The Great Mouse Challenge

Well, here’s where we’re at:

Sunday:  Bought snap traps, put peanut butter on them, left the house for the day, bait still there when we got home.

Sunday night:  Put out traps with peanut butter - one in kitchen, one in basement.

Monday morning:  Peanut butter gone, traps unsnapped.

Monday night:  Put out traps in kitchen, touching each other, with peanut butter.

Tuesday morning:  Peanut butter gone, traps unsnapped.

So now…this is war.  I have a bunch of ideas to try and I am ready to try them.  This morning we went to a couple different stores looking for the trap that zaps mice.  Found that one store carries it, but they are out of stock right now.  You bet I’ll be checking there everytime I go by now.

Tonight we’ll do the traps with cheese jammed onto the bait hook.  And I’m going to try the bucket with water method too, where the mouse climbs up to get a snack and falls into the water and drowns.  I have to do something; my imagination has these things wandering in here by the dozens at night, copulating and multiplying like crazy, and just taking over the place.  Ugh, disgusting.  I will keep you updated on my findings.
