We Know Where You Live

Our entire family was at the dentist in January and February (as you may remember).
Now, in the past month, I have received 12 emails, 2 phone calls and 3 post cards “reminding” me that we are due for our dental cleanings. Since the cards we got yesterday were for Daniel, Andrew and I, I suspect that Josh’s, Jon’s and Claire’s will be on their way shortly.
Maybe if they wouldn’t spend so much time/money harassing reminding people that they haven’t been to the dentist in 5 months, they wouldn’t have to put so much upsell pressure on their patients.
Good grief!
How often do YOU go to the dentist?

We try to go every six months since that’s what my benefits will cover. The kids actually enjoy it, so that makes it easier. I book the kids’ appointments together and mine separately. The dentist office is on campus, so I can go during my lunch hour and don’t have to find childcare. (Marc sees a different dentist - an ex-girlfriend of his, but that’s a story for another time.)
We book the next appointment before we leave, so we don’t have to deal with calls and such. They always phone us two weeks before the scheduled appointment, so there’s always a good opportunity to reschedule if the appointment has been booked for the day of a class field trip or something.
Here’s my weird upsell story: I had a different dentist do my check-up this last time, and she suggested pulling a tooth that was not causing any problems just to “clean things up”. seriously.

Every 6 months for the kids, every year for me. And Sal is whenever he can try.
I like the dentist. But I’ve always had an easy mouth so it doesn’t bug me..

we are every 6 mos. I don’t like it but the kids seem to enjoy the trinkets they get after being there.

We go every six months. I’m so thankful that we can!
