Big Girl Bed!
Author: Amber
None of our kids have been “climb out of the crib before Mommy is ready to deal with it” sort of kids. It’s always been my decision when to move them out of the crib, and it’s pretty much always been a smooth transition (except for that time we decided Daniel was old enough for a toddler bed at the ripe old age of less-than-15-months). They’ve all really liked those 4 walls to keep them safe!
Tonight Claire will sleep in a big girl bed for the first night ever, which is much earlier than we were expecting. Due to faulty and weak plastic hardware on our Storkcraft crib, we’ve decided not to push our luck any further and just get her out of that death trap (ours is broken, in the exact place that warrants the recall. Until today, I figured as long as we didn’t put the side down it would be fine, but now I’m not comfy with that figurement anymore.).
What do I think about this? Well, tonight is going to S-U-C-K for bedtime, etc. Considering that I already feel an intense annoyance and frustration and it is only 5:08 pm, I am likely going to be practicing some deep breathing relaxation techniques later on. Stupid Storkcraft broken plastic crib parts causing me more stress! :oP
Tomorrow I’ll be back with an update of how the night went, and pictures of our little girl graduating to a new stage that makes her seem much older than she should be seeming, and one that makes me just a little titch sad. One more step away from babyhood!
Goodbye crib.

Good luck!!! Olivia’s been out of her crib for 2 months now and we had no issues with her for bed time. She was 14 months when we took her out
Both of my kids hated their cribs. They both screamed their heads off for over 2 hours everynight. Once we did the switch there is maybe 10 mins of crying which is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck! We had two Storkcraft cribs at one point, and very luckily did not have any broken parts. So scary! Hope the bedtime goes okay.
