Episode 11 - Apple Day

Author: webmaster

In this week’s super-sized episode we make an accordion bridge, cry over spilled milk, shake an apple tree, do a fox walk, and argue about Greek pronunciation.

Hi Jon and Amber,

Just spent two days catching up on all your podcasts! It made for very enjoyable database cleanup, or maybe just made such an unpleasant task go that much faster. It’s nice to hear your voices again, and to hear the boys as well.

If I could live anywhere in the world, it’d have to be France. So much good cheese, and history, and greenery, but cheese is definitely first on that list. My family was joking around at one point about running a tourist trap vineyard in France if we won the lottery. Dad would tend to the vines and make the wine, Mom would run the tours, Nathan would make kitschy souvenirs for the tourists to buy, Sheila would run the shop, and I would be the eccentric writer in the attic, the key stop on the tour. I would have to be sure to peek out the attic window mysteriously at appropriate times, then duck back behind the curtains… ;) This was before Mike, so we’ll have to find something for him to do. Maybe tinker with the tractor and other associated machinery required to run the vineyard. He could probably finally make his turbo-charged golf cart! I think Nathan’s family had plans to come along as well: I think Gil would take pictures of the tourists for them to purchase, and Rowena and Geoff were going to run the B&B part of the vineyard. Ahh… That would be fun.

Take care!

Do I have to pick one place? I have a big travel bug :) I’d most like to live in Ireland in the countryside. Why? A portion of my ancestors are from that region and I’d like to go there and see if it feels like “home”. Hubby and I have also talked ‘realistically’ about when we retire moving to a warmer climate…maybe Puerto Rico?

Thanks for the plug guys. I’m really enjoying your shows. Yesterday I was on the Life on Fire skypecast and Chris asked me if I lived close to you guys. You know the drill, “Canada– I know someone in Canada. Do you know Roy and Anita?” :)

I explained that we were 3000 km apart. What I didn’t tell him was that I grew up in Alberta (Ft. McMurray) and my parents still live in Edmonton. Your show has become one of the ways I keep in touch with my Alberta Side. Thanks.
