Shave and a Haircut…Three Kids!
Author: Amber
This last week was the week of many haircuts.
It began with Daniel, who decided, with many many people asking him when he would get his [long] hair cut, to have it cut short when school ended, after his birthday. I have to admit that I was a little sad about this haircut stuff, and bothered that people kept pestering him about it because I loved his long hair. Hair is just hair though, and this hair is his, on his very own head which makes haircuts his very own decision.
We decided to give the professionals a try and took Daniel to Beaners for his very first “not-at-home” haircut.
Here are the before and after shots, and one more pic I took after I trimmed Daniel’s bangs a little more and spiked it for him (at his request):

Andrew and Josh saw Daniel’s new haircut and loved how different he looked. For days after he had it done, they would joke around that they couldn’t find Daniel, saying he looked like a different person. Andrew decided he wanted to look like a different person too, and after refusing haircuts for awhile, asked to have his hair like Daddy’s. So, I shaved it!

My opinion, which, again, doesn’t really matter, is that it looked better longer. I miss his longer hair too.
Now, Joshua loved that everyone was getting haircuts and he wished for one too! His hair was already pretty short since his regular cut is a shaved look like his Daddy’s! He loves to be “little Jon” and the glasses and haircut really make them look alike! Here are Josh’s before and after pics:

Aww, my sweet adorable boys - growing up so quickly!
I got a haircut this week as well, but in my opinion, it was not a good one. I have only ever been unhappy with one haircut before this and I kind of grew to like it. This one not so much. No before and after pics of me…I’m actually debating getting another cut - shorter - to make it easier to do my hair again. Right now it is not easy, doesn’t look good up or down, straight or curly; and that is not what I was going for at all! I am good at doing my hair a variety of ways and working with what I have, but I just don’t have a lot of time to do that every day!
Anyway…how can I have a post with so many pictures of my kids and leave one out? Here is a picture of Claire, who did not receive a haircut and likely won’t for at least two more years. Probably longer, since the boys didn’t even receive their first haircuts until they were almost three years old. We are slow hair-growers in this family!

Wishing all who read here many happy haircuts to come! May you love every one you receive!

Your boys are so handsome and even more so now with their snazzy new do’s.
I can totally relate to bad haircuts as I have had a few since coming to Calgary. We have actually been going to Great Clips in Creekside and have all had great cuts. Bonus is it only costs $10 for kids and $15 for us.
I wish Laila was a little hair challenged…we are having issues with her do now. I think sweet Claire looks adorable just the way she is. :}

I think the hardest part about getting their hair cut is that it makes them look older. Your boys look adorable! I love the spikes and wish Luke would let me “do” his hair.
We cut Luke’s about every three months. I have them cut it really short and then let it go until it is long enough to bother me (I don’t really care for long hair on boys) or we get to a special occasion or holiday. Kenna has only had 2 hair cuts ever for a total of a half an inch cut off. He hair is almost to her waist and we will keep going until she decides to get it cut or something happens that forces her to cut it.

Thanks Michelle and Amy!
I so can’t wait to do girly things with Claire’s hair!
Denise…we’ll see if I remember to get a picture tomorrow after I put in a lot of effort to make it look good for church! LOL

I’m sorry I missed the “big events”. They are adorable.
